Designing a Sound Management System That Survives Doze Mode

Details on designing a sound management system that works in Doze mode. Improving user experience with the Muffle app.

During a lecture, a phone ringing highlighted the anxiety users feel about sound profiles. The Muffle app was developed to automate this process. Despite challenges from Doze mode and App Standby, a background service was implemented for sound management.

The app uses AlarmManager for precise scheduling to manage user routines automatically. Users must grant access to 'Do Not Disturb' settings, which is crucial for functionality. For GPS-based triggers, utilizing Google Play Services helps conserve battery life while ensuring the app runs smoothly in the background.
