On July 15, 2026, AWS announced a new skill for the OpenSearch Agent Toolkit. This skill claims to allow natural language interaction with OpenSearch for building and managing queries. However, it functions as a structured knowledge package rather than a traditional chatbot. During my testing, I found it beneficial in several areas, although there were instances where manual execution was faster.
