Mistral AI aims to build 1 gigawatt of European compute by 2030

Mistral AI is taking significant steps to turn European AI sovereignty into a tangible product. The company announced a regional infrastructure expansion that includes options for customers to run AI workloads in Europe or the U.S., a new 'Priority Tier' with uptime guarantees for mission-critical applications, and a coalition of enterprises making multi-year compute commitments. This plan aims to achieve 200 megawatts of capacity in Europe by 2027 and a full gigawatt by 2030.
