Near-autonomous AI agents attack Taiwan's nuclear safety agency

Suspected Chinese cyber operatives utilized publicly available AI tools to breach Taiwanese government systems, extending their attack to the nuclear safety agency and several energy firms. According to Dream, an Israeli cybersecurity firm, the operation was characterized as a "near-autonomous attack," compromising 85 government accounts and extracting over 2,500 personnel records. The attack leveraged open-source AI frameworks and demonstrated significant capabilities in mapping and exploiting vulnerabilities within government infrastructures.
