xAI has seemingly disabled the functionality that allowed its Grok Build CLI to upload complete developer repositories to company-controlled cloud storage. This change was implemented via a hidden server-side flag, as revealed by security researcher cereblab. The analysis showed that the CLI was uploading entire repositories, including full Git history, raising concerns about the handling of sensitive code and credentials.
